Basic information about JAIIB-CAIIB

Both JAIIB and CAIIB are conducted by IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking & Finance)

JAIIB (Junior Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers).

Consists of 3 papers :

1. Principles & Practices of Banking
2. Accounting & Finance for Bankers
3. Legal & Regulatory Aspects of Banking.

Only existing employees of banks can write JAIIB Exam.
People other than Bank Employees Can write Diploma in Banking and Finance Exam.
If Passed, JAIIB Examination certificate will be issued After joining the bank.
Syllabus & exam pattern for both JAIIB and DBF exams are same.
JAIIB Exams are conducted in on-line & off-line mode.

JAIIB Exam Pattern :

Total No of Questions - 120 MCQs.
Duration - 2 Hours
Approx - 70 Half Mark, 35 one mark and 15 two mark questions.

CAIIB (Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers)

Consists of 2 compulsory papers and One Elective paper :

Compulsory Papers

1. Advanced Bank Management
2. Bank Financial Management


Candidates should have completed JAIIB before appearing for IIBF CAIIB Exam.

CAIIB Exam Pattern:

Total No of Questions - 100 MCQs including 40 case studies.
Duration - 2 Hours

Minimum marks for passing JAIIB, CAIIB and Diploma in Banking & Finance Exam is 50 out of 100 marks in each subject or at least 45 marks in each subject with a total of 150 marks in all subjects put together in a single attempt.

There are no negative marks for wrong answers.
JAIIB and CAIIB exams are not mandatory certifications.
But they are useful to Bank employees in Career Growth, Promotion and Salary Increment.
