About RBI Grade B Exam
RBI Grade B is one of the most coveted job profile in the Banking Sector. Through RBI Grade B 2019 Exam, the government will recruit eligible candidates to the post of Officer in Reserve Bank of India. With an excellent pay scale and reputed job profile, every year thousands of students take this examination. With a handful of vacancy it is really important to prepare effectively for this exam.
Reserve Bank of India has introduced a new scheme of selection for recruitment of officers in Grade-‘B’ (DR), from recruitment year 2015. Under the new scheme of selection the examination will be computer based (Objective type with Multiple Choice Question pattern) and consists of two phases, viz., Phase-I and Phase-II, followed by Interview.
While Phase-I examination will continue as per existing Phase-I examination for Grade-‘B’ (DR), Phase-II examination will consist of three papers of which two will be compulsory papers and one optional paper. The compulsory papers are Paper-I on ‘English’ and Paper-II on ‘Economic and Social Issues’. The optional Paper- Paper-III will have options of subjects, viz., ‘Finance & Management’ or ‘Economics’ or ‘Statistics’. In Phase-II the paper on ‘English’ will be descriptive type and computer based, i.e. to be typed on computer screen with the help of the keyboard.
Prospective candidates are advised that Phase-II of the examination will be conducted within two to three weeks of Phase-I of the examination. The new scheme of selection is furnished in the Annex-A. The Syllabi of all the papers are furnished in Annex-B.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B 2019 Exam will be conducted in three phases: Phase-I exam, phase-II exam and interview process. Candidates are required to clear all the three phases in order to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in Reserve Bank of India.
Examination Pattern
(i) Examination will consist of two phases, viz. - Phase-I & Phase-II followed by interview.
(ii) Phase-I examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The Phase-I examination will continue as per the existing Phase-I examination for Grade-‘B’ (DR). There are four modules in Phase-I, viz.- General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.

(iii) Phase-II examinations will consist of three papers in MCQ pattern (except Paper-I) – viz. Paper-I on English (writing skills); Paper-II – Economic & Social Issues and Paper-III – (optional subjects) – Finance & Management/ Economics/ Statistics.
(iv) Candidates will be required to write all the papers online.
(v) Only successful candidates of Phase-I will appear for Phase-II examination on a later date.
(vi) Based on the results of Phase-II examinations candidates will be shortlisted for interview.
(vii) Final selection will be through merit lists which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III) and Interview.
B. Duration of Examinations and Distribution of Marks
(i) Phase-I : Objective Type - 2 hours - 200 marks
(ii) Phase-II: Three Papers - 300 marks
- Paper-I – online- English-( writing skills)- 1½ hours - 100 marks
- Paper-II – Economic and Social Issues – 1½ hours – 100 marks
- Paper-III - Optional Paper (Finance & Management/ Economics/ Statistics) – 1½ hours - 100 marks
(iii) Interview: 50 marks
The interview will continue in its existing format.

RBI Grade B Notification
RBI Recruitment 2019: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited online applications to recruit for 199 vacancies to the post of RBI Grade B (DR) officer through the recruitment examination. The RBI recruitment notification is available on the official website of the RBI, rbi.org.in. The online application process is going to start from September 21, 2019, on rbi.org.in and the last date to apply for the post of RBI Grade B officer is October 11, 2019.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released the notification for application form of Grade B post- Officers General, DEPR and DSIM. The online application has begun. RBI Grade B 2019 exam consist of three phases for selection of candidates. Candidates who get selected after Phase-I & Phase-II of the exam are called for the final interview process.
RBI Grade B Eligibility
To be eligible for RBI Grade B 2019 Exam, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 60% and above from a recognized university. The same percentage is reduced to 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category. A candidate must fall into the age limit as stated by RBI in its notification (i.e. not less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of age).

2.1 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General) : Minimum 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.
Minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters / years
2.2 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR : A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute;
OR
PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute;
OR
Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.
2.3 Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM :
Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade (aggregate of all semesters / years)
OR
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute
OR
M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of all semesters / years)
OR
Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years. - Number of attempts:The maximum permissible number of attempts (which were applicable for candidates belonging to Unreserved/General Category) has been increased from 4 to 6.
