S- Strength of the project/concern
W- Weakness - do-
O- Opportunities -do-
T- Threats. - do -
Of the proposal to arrive at a decision.
For a Manager/Appraiser SWOT is a tool like a thermometer, stethoscope,an X ray or a Eco cardiograph to s doctor.
* Strengths may be
-Excellent standing ,goodwill
-High net worth
-Managerial abilities
- Technical qualifications.
-Strong financials etc.
# Weakness may be
- No previous experiences
- No technical or managerial knowledge.
- Low Net worth
- First generation businessman
@ Opportunities
- Unfulfilled demand for the product
- Tax Holidays as located in SEZ/Export promotion zone/near Port/Airport
- New inventions,product,fashion,social need /new apps
$$ Threats
- Entry of competitors
- Imports allowed freely(China Products)
- Product out of fashion
- Change in Govt. directives
-Change in Act
- Change in environmental factors
- Change in lifestyle.
- Prone to Natural/local calamities.
A Decision maker should take such factors into considerations.
@ STRENGTHS enables you to put your best foot forward.
@WEAKNESS? Who does not have them? You can take corrective steps only when you can gauge the.
@ OPPORTUNITIES - They are plenty even in adversity. Only one has to evaluate them for what they are?
@ THREATS - They are like ticking time bombs; defuse them by anticipation and taking preventative action.
